Configuring Universal Network Profiles UNP Overview
OmniSwitch AOS Release 7 Network Configuration Guide June 2013 page 27-15
How it Works
There is no global switch setting to invoke the UNP functionality. Instead, UNP is enabled on individual
switch ports and profiles are defined to determine the dynamic VLAN or SPB service assignment for
devices connected through the UNP ports. When UNP is enabled on a switch port, the following device
classification process is triggered when the port receives traffic. This section contains a description of the
following device classification processes, based on both the UNP port and profile configuration:
“VLAN Domain Authentication and Classification” on page 27-16.
“Service Domain Authentication and Classification” on page 27-21.
