Interface Configuration Commands
carrier-delay
In interface configuration mode, use the carrier-delay command to set the carrier
delay on the interface, and the no carrier-delay command to restore it to default.
carrier-delay [ seconds ]
Optional parameter within the range of 1 to 60 seconds
The default carrier delay is 2 seconds.
Interface configuration mode
This parameter refers to the delay after which the carrier detection signals DCD of
the interface link turns from the Down status to the Up status. If the DCD changes
within the delay, the system will ignore such changes without disconnecting the
upper data link layer for renegotiation.
If the DCD carrier is disconnected for a long time, the parameter should be
increased to accelerate route aggregation and routing table convergence. If the
DCD carrier interruption period is shorter than the time used for route aggregation,
you should raise the parameter to avoid unnecessary route oscillation.
The following example shows how to configure the carrier delay of serial interface
as 5 seconds:
Ruijie(config)# interface gigabitethernet 1/1
Ruijie(config)# carrier-delay 5
