2. Make sure that gasket surfaces of planetary and
brake assembly are clean. Position new gasket (item 3)
to brake assembly.
3. Position brake assembly to machine, aligning
splined brake shaft with input shaft on planetary wheel
drive.
4. Make sure that gasket is properly positioned and
then install flange head screws (item 6) to secure brake
assembly to planetary assembly. Tighten screws in a
crossing pattern to 60 ft−lb (81 N−m).
5. Install brake cable to pull rod on brake assembly
(Fig. 19). Brake cable end should be completely
threaded onto pull rod.
6. Install new O−ring (item 4) on hydraulic wheel motor.
Install wheel motor (see Rear Wheel Motors in Chapter
4 − Hydraulic System in this manual).
7. Install rear wheel assembly (see Wheel Assemblies
in this chapter).
8. Make sure brake housing drain plug is installed and
position wheel as shown (Fig. 21). Fill planetary wheel
drive with SAE 85W−140 gear lube to level of check
plug. Capacity is approximately 18 to 20 fl oz (0.53 to
0.59 L) per drive. A portion of the gear lube will pass into
the brake assembly automatically. Install planetary drive
plugs.
9. Check and adjust brake cables for proper brake op-
