9.8.2.3 Setting the Focus
The image sharpness is set using the focus.
The setting influences the slope of the ascending and descending
flanks of the video curve at the contrast transitions. The steeper the
flanks, the sharper the image. For optimum guiding and measuring
results, the focus should be set to the maximum possible value.

NOTICE
Damage caused to the camera lens due to incorrect operation!
Focus settings carried out with locked camera lens may lead to
damage to the zoom lens drive.

Before setting the focus, it is absolutely necessary to loosen
both locking screws of the camera lens.
›› The web of material is pulled in. At least one material edge is
located in the viewing range of the CCD camera.
1. Loosen both locking screws ① and ② of the zoom lens.
2. Use the arrow buttons to set the focus to the maximum
possible value.
The focus value obtained appears in the display field on the top
edge of the display.
3. Carefully tighten both locking screws ① and ② of the camera
lens.

The display field at the top edge of the display shows the focal
length that has been set on the zoom lens.
