With an optional A I 0 I 0 external 3 .5 inch disk drive (available from your Amiga
dealer), you eliminate the
di
sk swapping involved
in
copying
di
sks with a
si
ngle
drive.
When you
've
made copies
of
both
di
sks, put
th
e original
in
a safe place a
nd
use
only
th
e working disks. That way, if you
lo
se
or
damage a working
di
sk, you'
ll
be able to make another copy from the original.

Resetting the Amiga
Before going on, you need to insert the newly copied Workbench disk,
th
en reset
the Workbench. To reset,
make
sure
the
disk
drive
light is off, ho
ld
down the
CTRL key, the Commodore key, and the Amiga key at
th
e same time
fo
r at least
'half
a second, then release the keys. When you reset
th
e Workbench,
yo
u clear
the Amiga
's
memory the electronic circuits
th
e Amiga uses to store
in
forma
ti
on
then the Workbench reappears. You're back to where you were when you first
inserted the Workbench disk.
Two
warnings:
NEVER
reset
the
Workbench
when
a
disk
drive
light
on,
Resetting when
the
light is
on
may
damage
the
information
on
the
disk.
When
you
reset
the
Workbench,
any
work
that
has
not
been
saved
to
disk
is
lost. When you begin using the tools on the Amiga, remember to save your work
before you reset.
