1= OVERRIDE BOX DECODE FORMAT
Enter “1”; a new sub menu will appear. The display will now read:
If the NO setting is left in place, no changes will be made to Radio box format. When “Set to
Yes” is selected using the ↑↓ keys, the menu will change to:
It is within this sub-menu that an operator can opt to override the RBI (Radio Box Interface)
dipswitch setting (for selection of the number of box digits and function tones to be ued in the
system) and to instead used this menu to select the basic box formate, i.e., 4-2, 4-1, 5-2, 3-2, etc.,
to determin the transmission protocol to be processed from the box. The first preference set will
be the assignment of the Method to be used.
With the cursor in the 4-2 locaton as shown in the screen above, select the number of digits the
1221 radio boxes transmit (including leading zeros). Set the “-X” part of the number to the
number of funciton tones the boxes send. If both single and dual digit boxes are present, select “-
1; the “-A” selection (see below) must be made to auto select one or two function tones based on
the negative box previously entered for the daily box report.
To select the METHOD:
Use FUNC to advance cursor to numeric values shown in the second selection, “Select Function
Tone method…”=. The cursor will blink below the number to the right of the hyphen. This digit
represents the 4 Methods that are defined mid-screen.
Using the CHANGE DOWN or CHANGE UP programmable keys (or the ↑↓ keys) to indicate
preferred Method value (A, 1, 2, or V). The options are:
-A= Auto selection of 1 or 2 function tones. Choosing A automates the selection of function
tones to be used. This method works only if the number of tones in the obx number are identical,
