SYSTem:COMMunicate:SERial:TRANsmit:BITs <numeric_value>
This command sets the word length for both the transmitter and the
receiver. The word length for the transmitter and receiver are tied
together and can either be set by this command or the equivalent receiver
command [:RECeiver]:BITs.

The query returns the current setting of the transmit/receive word length.
