Playing on the keyboard
6. BASIC OPERATIONS
PLAYING ON THE KEYBOARD
Justplay on the keyboard. You will hear the Realtime
tracks playing. There are four Realtime tracks: Upper
1–3andLower.Theymayplayallatthesametime,or
justoneorafewofthem,dependingontheirMutesta‐
tus.Ifyo
ucannothearatrack,checkthemutestatusof
thatpart.
Tr
acks can be set in different ways: use the KEY‐
BOARD
MODEsectiontoselectthewaytheyarecon‐
figuredon
thekeyboard.
•Press FULL UPPE
R to play the Upper 1–3 tracks
on the
full range of the keyboard, just as you
wouldonapiano.
•PressSP
LITtolettheUpper1–3tracksplayonthe
rightoftheSplitPo
int,andtheLowertrackonthe
left.
•KeeptheSPLITPOINTbuttonpressed,andplaya
note to chan
ge the point where the keyboard is
dividedinanUpperandaLowerpart.
Tosavetheselectedspli
tpointnote,presstheGLOBAL
button, then press WRITE to savetheGlobalinmem‐
ory(see“TheWritewindow”onpage 125).
SELECTING, MUTING/UNMUTING AND
SOLOING A TRACK
Selecting. UsetheVOLUME/VALUE(A–H)buttonsto
selectatrack.
The selected track is shown with a solid square
sur‐
roundingitsstatusicons.
Ifyoucan’tseethetracktha
tyou’r
elookingfor,usethe
TRACK SELECT button to scroll up or down the
tracks,andfindthehiddenones.
Mute/unmute. Press both VOLUME/VALUE (A–H)
buttonstomuteorunmu
teatrack.Forexample,ifyou
are on the main page that appears after turning the
instrument on, and you want to mute the Upper 1
track,presstheE(UPPER1/ACC2)buttonstogether.

Solo. While in the Style Play, Song Play and Song
modes, you can solo one of the tracks. Just keep the

IFT button pressed, and press both VOLUME/
VALUEbuttonscorrespondingtothetrackyouwishto
solo.
