Program operating mode
Page 1 - Basic
PAGE 1 - BASIC
HereyoucanmakebasicsettingsfortheProgram,such
asbasicoscillatorsettings,theoscillatorcount,andthe
polyphonicmode.
Oscillators
Use this parameter to specify the basicProgramtype;
whetheritwilluseoneormoreoscillators(uptofour).

Mode

Poly The Program will play polyphonically,
allowingyo
uplaychords.
Mono The Program will play monophonically,
producingonlyonenoteatatime.
Single Trigger
Thisparameterisavailablewhenthe“Mode”parame
terissettoPoly.

Legato
Thisparameterisavailablewhenthe“Mode”parame
terissettoMono.
Yes Legato is on. When
multiple noteon’s
occur, the fi
rst noteon will retrigger the
sound, and the second and subsequent
noteon’swillnotretrigger.
Whenlegatoison,multiplenoteon’swill
not retrigger the voice. If one note is
alreadyonandanothernoteisturnedon,
thefirstvoicewillcontinuesounding.The
oscillator sound, envelope, and LFO will
not be reset, and only the pitch of the
oscillator will be updated. This set
ting is
effectiveforwindins
trumentsoundsand
analogsynthtypesounds.
No Legatoisoff.Noteswillalways be retri
g
geredwhennoteonoccurs.
Whenlegatoisoff,multiplenoteon’
swill
re
trigger the voice at each noteon. The
oscillator sound, envelope, and LFO will
bereset(andretriggered)accordingtothe
settingsoftheProgram.
Note: If“Legato” is On, certain multisample
s or keyboard
locationsmayproduceanincorrectpitch.
Priority
Thisparameterisavailablewhenthe“Mode”parame
terissettoMono.Itspecifieswhichnotewill
begiven
priority to play when two or more notes are played
simultaneously.

Themultisample(s)(waveform)onwhichtheProgram
willbe based canbeselectedhere foreachofthe four
oscillators.Eachoscillatorcanuse1or2multisamples,
eachoneassignedtotheHighorLowlayer.
The internal FlashROM contains 340 different multi
samples(presetmultisamples).
Selected
Usethisparametertoselectanoscillatortoputinedit.
Alternatively,youcanselectoscillatorsusingtheF1–F
4buttons.
MS Hi/Lo Bank/Num
Usethese parameterstoselectadifferentmultisample
foreachoftheHighandLowlayers.Youcanuseveloc
ity to switch between the two multisamples. Reve
rse,
OffsetandLevelcanbeadjustedindependentlyforthe
HighandLowmultisamples.
Thefirstlineshowsthebank(ROM),whilethese
cond
line is for selecting the multisample. The Program
numberappearsattheendofthesecondline.
The multisample you selectfor the High laye
r will be
triggered by velocities higher than the value of the
“Velocity Switch” parameter (see page108). If you do
not wish to use ve
locity switching ,settheswitchto a
valueof001,andselectonlytheHighmultisample.
Note: Each multisample has an up
per limit, and may not
producesoundwhenplayedabovethatlimit.
[H/L] Reverse
Themultisamplewill beplayedinreverse.Inthecase
ofFlashROMmultisamplesthatwereoriginallyspeci
fied to loop, the multisample will be play
ed back in
“oneshot”reversemode.Ifthemultisamplewasorigi
nallysettoreverse,itwillplaybackwithoutchan
ge.
