Song operating mode
Step Record page
Resol (Resolution)
Use this parameter to set the quantization during
recording. Quantization is a way of correcting tim
ing errors; notes played too soon or too later are
move
d to the nearest axis of a rhythmic “grid”, set
withthisparameter,thusplayingperfectlyintime.

Meter
This is the meter (or time signature) of the Song. You
can edit this parameter only when the Song is empty,
i.e. before you begin recording anything. To insert a
meterchangeinthemiddleoftheSong,usethe“Insert
Measure”function(seepage101).
Sel.Tempo (Select Tempo)
Select this parameter to use the TEMPO/VALUE con
trolstosetthetempo.
Note:YoucanalwayschangetheTempo,whenotherparam
e
tersare selected,bykeepingtheSHIFTbuttonpr
essed,and
rotatingtheDIAL.
Note: The tempo is always record in overwrite mode (ol

dataisreplacedbythenewdata).
Tempo (Tempo mode)
Thisparametersetsthewaytempoeventsareread.
Record All Tempo changes made during record
ingwill
berecordedtotheMasterTra
ck.
Auto The Sequencer plays back all recorded
Temp
o events. No new Tempoevents are
recorded.
Manual The latest manual Tempo setting (made
using the TEMPO/VALUE controls) is
considered the current Tempo value. No
Tempo change will be recorded. This is
very useful to record the Song much
slowerthanitsactualTempo.

Access this page from the Main page of the Song
Record mode, by selecting the “StepDub” or “Ste
pOwrrecordingmode(“Rec”paramete
r), andpress
ingSEQ1PLAY/STOP.

M (Measure)
Thisisthepositionoftheevent(note,restorchord)to
beinserted.
Meter
Meterofthecurrentmeasure. Thisparametercan’t be
edited.YoucansetaMeterchangebyusingtheInsert
functionoftheEditmenu,andinsertinganewseriesof
measures with a different Meter (see “Page 22‐

This is a prompt, asking for a note or chord to be
played on the keyboard, to enter an eventon the cur
rentstep.
Step value
Length of the event to be inserted. Use the NOTE
VALUE buttons, on the lower left area of the control

When this option is selected, the playing
strength of the played note is recognized
