Selecting a Performance
SELECTING A PERFORMANCE
APerformanceisasetofProgramsandsettingsforthe
Keyboard and Style tracks, that makes selecting com
plexcombinationslivefastandeasy
.Whenthe STYLE
CHANGE LED is on, a Performance can also select a
differentStyle.
ItisalwaysadvisabletousePerformances,ra
therthan
single Programs, when playing even a solo sound,
since a Performance lets you select the right effects,
transposition, plus many other parameters, together
withthePrograms.
Other “performance” parameters are sav
ed in the
Global.
1. Pres
s the PERFORM button. This changes the
PROGRAM/PERFORMANCE secti
on into a Per
formanceselector.
2. Use the lef
tmost button of the PROGRAM/PER
FORMANCE section to sel
ect the first row of ten
banks
(1–10,upperLEDturnedon),orthesecond
rowoftenbanks(11–20,lowerLEDturnedon).
3. Press one of the 1–0 buttons to select the PRO
GRAM/PERFORMANCEbankcontainingthePer
formanceyo
uarelookingfor.
The Performance Select window appears. Th
ere
are8Pe
rformancesforeachbank.
4. Select a Performanceusing the VOLUME/VALUE
(A–H)buttons.
5. If the DISPLAY HOLD LED is on, press EXIT to
exitthiswindow
.
The STYLE CHANGE button
Whenyousel ect aPerformance,theStylemayormay
not change, depending on the status of the STYLE
CHANGEbutton.(Whenyou saveaPerformance,the
currentStylenumberisalwaysmemorized).
•IftheSTYLECHANGELEDison,theStylesaved
inthePerformancewillbesel
ected.
•If the STYLE CHANGE LED is off, the Style
doe
sn’tchange.
SELECTING A PROGRAM
You can select a different Program (i.e., sound) to be
playedbyatrack.BeforeselectingaProgram ,youmust
selectthetrackthatyouwanttoassigntheProgramto.
Note:
To assign differentPrograms to the Styletracks, press
TRACK SELECTto see theStyle tracks.If you selectaPro
gram while grouped tracks (Dru
m/Percussion or ACC) are
selected,theProgramwillbeassignedtothelastselectedtrack.
EachStyleElement(Variations,Fills…)can havedif
ferentPrograms,soyourselectionmightbeautomati
callyresetwhenselectingadifferentElement.Toavoi

gram)”onpage49.
1. Use the VOLUME/VALUE (E–H) buttons on the
right side of the di
splay, to select the Realtime
(Keyboard) track you wish to assign a different
Programto.
2. Press the PROGRAM button. This changes the
PROGRAM/
PERFORMANCE section into a Pro
gramselector.
