CAUTION
Ventilate the area where the batteries will be charged.
Do NOT charge a frozen battery. Warm the battery to 16°C
(60°F) before attempting to charge it.
Do NOT connect or disconnect live circuits.
To prevent sparks, turn off the charger before attempting to
connect the leads to the battery. Connect the positive
cable first.
Wear safety glasses when working with batteries.
If charging the battery in the windrower, disconnect the
positive battery cable before connecting the charger cable.
Connect the ground cable last.
Stop charging the battery, or reduce the charging rate, if the
battery feels hot or is venting electrolyte fluid. The batterys
temperature must NOT exceed 52°C (125°F).
The maximum charge rate in amperes should be NO MORE
than 1/3 of the batterys reserve capacity rating. If the
terminal voltage exceeds 16.0 volts while the battery is
being charged, reduce the charging rate. Continue charging
the battery. Reduce the charging rate as needed until the
voltage does not increase and the current does not decrease
in a two-hour period.
