1. Clean gasket groove (B) in filter head (A). If an O-ring is
installed in the groove, remove and discard it.
2. Apply a thin film of clean oil to filter square cut gasket (C).
3. Install new square cut gasket (C) into groove (B) in filter
head (A).
4. Screw new filter (D) onto the filter head until the gasket
contacts the filter.

5. Tighten filter (A) an additional 1/2 turn by hand.
IMPORTANT:
Do NOT use a filter wrench to install the oil filter.
Overtightening can damage the gasket and the filter.
6. Check the hydraulic oil level. For instructions, refer to
5.11.1 Checking and Filling Hydraulic Oil, page 419.
