buttonENGBRAKEON/OFFswitchonthe
steeringwheel(pressingthisswitchagainwill
deactivatethesystem).TheENGINEBRAKE
SELECTOR1/2/3switchisthenusedtoadjust
theamountofbrakingapplied.
Usingenginebrakingfeaturescanextend
brakelininglife.Thefeaturesalsoallowthe
drivertoslowthevehicledownormaintainaconstantspeed
onsteeproadgradesthatwouldotherwiseresultinprolonged
useoftheservicebrake,whichcouldcausebrakefade.Refer

stalk.Theshifterstalkislocatedontheright-sideofthesteering
column.T ooperatetheenginebrakecontrols,pulltheshifter
stalkdowntowardstheoor.Therearethreedifferentengine
brakelevels.

WhentheTransmissionControlModule(TCM)detectsthe
enginebrakehasbeenenabled,itcommandsuseofa
preselectedshiftscheduleinordertoenhancetheenginebrake
performance.

•Thegeardisplayontheshiftselectorwillstopblinking
whenthedownshiftiscompleted,andthedriverwillnotice
resumptionofenginebrakingasanindicationthatthe
shiftiscompleted.
