•Checkfanfordamagetoblades.Replace,ifdamaged,
withmanufacturer'srecommendedparts.Inspectfor
fan-to-shroudinterferenceandanydamagetoshroud,
suchascracksandholes.
•Fanspeedratioshouldnotbechangedandfanspacer
dimensionsandpositionshouldnotbealtered.
•Inspectforproperoperationoffanclutch,makingsure
thatthefanisdisengagedwhencoolingofengineisnot
required.
EngineNoiseShields/Blankets
•Enginevalvecovers,oilpans,andblockcoversaremade
todampoutenginemechanicalnoiseand,ifneeded,
shouldbereplacedwithoriginalequipmentparts.
ExhaustSystem
•Inspectforleaksatvariousjointconnectionsandtighten
clamps.Makevisualinspectionforcracksorholesin
muferandtailpipe.Alwaysreplacewithmanufacturer's
recommendedparts.T ailpipeelboworoffsettailpipe
orientationmustnotbechangedfromstandardposition
asoriginallyreceived.
•Topreventabnormalchangesinvehiclesoundlevel,
itisnecessaryfortheownertoperforminspections
andnecessarymaintenanceattheintervalsshownin
themaintenanceschedules,andrecordthemonthe
maintenancerecord(page254)formprovided.
