damagetoproperty,useonlythefollowing
proceduretoremovethepressurecapfromthe
radiatororexpansiontank.Allowtheengineto
coolrst.Wrapathick,heavyclotharoundthe
cap.Unscrewthecapslowlytoallowpressure
toreleasefromunderthecap.Afterthepressure
hasbeenreleased,thepressurecapmaybe
removed.
1.Cowlvent:Ensureairinletcoverisfreeofdirtand
debris.
2.Coolantlevel:Donotremovepressurecapunless
coolantiscool.Ensureuidlevelisbetweenthe
minimumandmaximumuidlevelrangeasmarkedon
theplastictranslucentreservoir.
3.Radiatorandchargeaircooler:Checkforloose
mountinganddamage.Inspectconditionofallhoses
fordamage,cracks,andleaks.Inspectforforeign
materialonfaceofcoolingpackage.Carefullybrush
awaycollectedmaterialswithoutbendingcoolingnsto
maintainproperairowthroughcoolingpackage.
4.Drivebelts:Inspectallbeltsforfrays,cracks,loose
bers,orvisiblesignsofwear.Withengineoff,presson
allbeltstotestforproperbelttensionerperformance.
5.Windshieldwasheruidlevel:Inspectthereservoir
andseethattheuidlevelisenoughtoaccomplish
theupcomingmission.SeeLubricantandSealer
Specicationschart,intheMaintenanceIntervalsand
Specicationssection,forthecorrectuidtypebefore
lling.Donotusewaterinfreezingclimates.
NOTE:Checkairlinesandelectricalwiringforproper
security,damage,andchang.Listenforaudibleairleaks.
NOTE:Checkforsignsofuidpuddlesundervehicleorwet
componentsintheenginecompartment.
