Yourvehiclemaybeequippedwithanoptional
FifthWheelJawUnlockfeature.Aguarded
switchmountedinthecaballowstheoperator
tounlockthefthwheeljawfrominsidethe
vehicle.Therearetwoavailableversions
forthesystem:withmonitoringorwithout
monitoring.Theversionwithmonitoring
capabilitiesincludesadditionalindicatorsto
showthedriverfthwheeljawstatus.
NOTE:FifthWheelJawUnlockisoperationalonlywhen
vehicleisstationary,parkingbrakeisset,andignition
switchisintheONposition.
NOTE:Outside(roadside),mechanicaljawrelease
mechanismisstilloperableregardlessofin-cabcontrol.
Tounlockthefthwheeljaw,performthefollowing:
•DepressandholdtheUNLOCK5THJAWswitch.
•Iftheswitchisonlypressedmomentarily,jaw
unlockwillnotoccur.
•Acontinuoustonealarmwillsoundwhilethejaw
isunlocking.
•Thecontinuoustonewillthenchangetoa
repetitivebeepindicatingjawunlockingis
complete.
•TheREDindicatorintheswitchwillturnonwhen
jawunlockingiscomplete.
•ReleasetheUNLOCK5THJAWswitchandreleasethe
parkingbraketosilencethealarm.
•TheREDindicatorwillthenturnoff.
•IftheREDindicatorashesfast,this
indicatesafthwheelcontrolsystemerror
orfailure.
•IftheREDindicatorashesslowly,this
indicatesaninterlockproblemsuchasa
parkingbrakenotset.
NOTE:Ifthecontinuoustonealarmshutsoffbeforethe
repetitivebeepisheard,jawunlockingwasincomplete.
