Antifreeze
Forcoolingsystemcapacities,coolantpartnumbers,andother
information,refertotheEngineOperationandMaintenance
Manual.
FanClutch
Inspectforproperoperation,secureelectricalconnections,and
airsupplyasappropriate.SeetheServiceManualfordetails.
Startcoldengineandviewfantoseethatitisrotatingmore
slowlythanthefanpulley(fanclutchisdisengaged).Achieve
operatingtemperatureandobservethatthefanisengaged.
FuelSystem
GOVERNMENTREGULATION:Dieselfuelsoldfor
usein2007andlaterhighwayvehiclesmustbelimited
toasulfurcontentof15partspermillion(ppm).
Frequentlyinspectconditionoffueltanksandmounting
hardware,fueltankcapandvent,fuellines,clipsandrouting.
AteveryPreventiveMaintenance(PM)(ordailyifnecessary)
drainwaterandsedimentfromthefuel/waterseparator
lter(ifequipped).Ifthevehicleisequippedwithanoptional
Davco
®
fuel/waterseparator,inspectthelevelofthefuelinthe
see-throughglobeandreplacethefuel/waterseparatorlter
elementifthefuellevelhasreachedthetopoftheglobe.In
allcases,besuretousetheproperfuel/waterseparatorlter
elementwiththecorrectpartnumberandlterefciencyrating.
FuelTankDrainingandCleaning
Periodically(annuallyisrecommended)drainwaterand
sedimentfromthefueltankviathedrainplugonthebottomof
thefueltank.Drainandushsedimentfromfueltankatleast
every12monthsormorefrequentlyiffuelqualityortypeoffuel
dictates.
