fanengageswhenenginecoolantreachesa
predeterminedtemperatureortherefrigerant
pressure(ifequippedwithairconditioning)
reachesapredeterminedsetting.Thefanwill
startwithnoadvancewarning.

qualiedtechnicianregularlycheckoperationof
transmissionneutralstartswitch.Ifunitstartsin

Tobesureyourvehicleisreadytooperate,conductapre-trip
inspectionatthebeginningofeachworkperiod.Thissection
givestheoperatorsuggestedguidelinestobeusedinperforming
tractorandtrailerpre-tripinspections.Safetyisthemost
importantandobviousreasonfordoingapre-tripinspection.
Dependingontheoptionalfeaturesofthevehiclebeingused
andanypossibleaftermarketitemsinstalledonthevehicle,
theseguidelinesshouldbemodiedtoincludeothernecessary
inspectionpoints.Followthestepsinthissectionandcheck
themofftoensureapropervehicleinspectionprocedure.The
pagesinthissectionmaybereproducedlocallyandusedona
regularbasis.
Ifanycomponentorsystemdoesnotpassthisinspection,it
mustbecorrectedbeforeoperatingthevehicle.Takeyourtime
goingthroughthepre-tripinspection.Rememberthatacareful
pre-tripinspectionsavestimebyeliminatingunscheduledstops
tocorrectafaultyitem.
