Operation
ParkedRegenerationProcedure
PerformthefollowingstepstoinitiateParkedRegeneration
(cleaning)oftheexhaustlter:
1.Parkthevehiclesafelyofftheroadwayandawayfrom
ammablematerials.
2.Beforeinitiatingparkedregeneration(usingtheON/PARKD
REGENswitch),thefollowingconditionsmustbeinplace:
a.Parkingbrakemustbeset.
b.DPFindicatorilluminated(solidorashing).
c.TransmissionmustbeinNeutral(N)orPark(P),if
available.
d.Accelerator,footbrake,andclutch(ifpresent)pedals
mustnotbedepressed.
e.Enginetemperaturemustbeatasufcientleveltoallow
regeneration.
Withsomeengines,thismaybeashighas170°F
(77°C).
NOTE:Theenginecoolanttemperaturemustbeabove
170°F(77°C)beforetheparkedregenerationprocedurecan
beperformed.Iftheenginecoolanttemperatureistoolow,
theparkedregenerationprocedurewillnotactivate.
3.PresstheONpositionoftheON/PARKEDREGENswitch
toinitiatetheregenerationcycle.
Theenginespeedwillautomaticallyrampuptoapreset
rpm,PARKEDREGENACTIVEwillbedisplayedinthe
informationdisplay,andtheswitchindicatorwillilluminate
whenthecycleisstarted.Iftheindicatorisblinking,check
tobesurethatallconditionsinStep2havebeenmet.Once
started,theregenerationcyclewilllastapproximately60
minutes.
NOTE:Ifanyoftheaboveconditionsarealteredduringthe
ParkedRegenerationprocess,regenerationwillbehalted
andmustberestarted.
4.Whentheregenerationcycleiscomplete,
theswitchindicatorwillgooff,theengine
rpmwillreturntonormalidle,andall
exhaustlterwarningindicatorswillbeoff.
Thevehiclemaynowbedrivennormally.
NOTE:Intheeventofanemergencywhere
thevehiclemustbemovedafterbeginning
ParkedRegeneration,pressPARKED
REGENpositionoftheON/PARKED
REGENswitchtocancelParkedRegeneration.
