LockingorLimitedSlipDifferentials
WARNING

Ifyourvehicleisequippedwithanytypeof
lockingorlimitedslipdifferential,powerwillbe
transmittedtotheoppositewheelshouldoneof
thewheelsslip.Bothwheelsmustberaisedfree
ofthegroundshoulditbenecessarytooperate
onewheelwiththevehiclestationary;otherwise,
thewheelthatisnotraisedwillpullthevehicle
offitssupport.

Topreventpersonalinjuryand/ordeath,or
damagetoproperty,paystrictattentiontothe

Careshouldbetakentopreventsudden
accelerationswhenbothdrivewheelsareona
slipperysurface.Thiscouldcausebothdrive
wheelstospinandallowthevehicletoslide
sideways,resultinginlossofvehiclecontrol.
TandemAxlePowerDividerLock(PDL)Control
CAUTION
Topreventpropertydamage,donotoperatethe
vehiclewiththePDLengagedondrypavement
(goodtraction)continuously.Thiswillresultin
excessivetirewearandprematureaxlewear.
NeverengagethePDLwhenthewheelsare
spinning.
ThePDLshouldbeengaged,whichpreventsinter-axle
differentialaction,whenbackingunderatrailerwithatractor,
orwhenthereispoortraction,suchaswhenstartingona
slipperysurface,operatingoffhighwayinmud,ortraveling
onslipperyhighways.Failuretolockthepowerdividerunder
theseconditionsmayresultinpowerdividerfailuresandcostly
repairs.Ifyouencounterwheelspinconditions,thePDLswitch
shouldbemovedtotheLOCKposition.
