Operation
TiltSteeringColumn(IfEquipped)
Theoptionaltiltsteeringcolumnhasinnitepositionsallowing
adjustmenttowardorawayfromthedriverthrougha20-degree
range.Thetilthandleislocatedontheleft-sideofthecolumn.
Totiltthecolumn,pullthelevertowardsthedriverandmovethe
steeringwheeltothedesiredposition.Releasethelevertolock
thecolumninposition.

Ifequippedwiththeoptionaltiltingandtelescopingsteering
column,thesteeringwheelcanbeadjustedasfollows:
1.Graspthesteeringwheelwithyourrighthandandunlockthe
releasehandlewithyourlefthandbypushingforwardonthe
releasehandle.
2.Usingbothhands,grabthesidesofthesteeringwheeland
adjustthetelescopingfeaturetothedesiredpositionand
thenthesteeringwheeltilttothedesiredposition.
3.Holdthesteeringwheelinthenewlyacquiredposition
withyourrighthandandpullthereleasehandlebackward
towardsyou,tothelockedposition,withyourlefthand.
4.Makecertainthesteeringwheelisintheproperpositionand
thecolumnislocked.

Alternator
CAUTION
Topreventpropertydamage,avoidimproper
usageoffastcharger,hookupofboosterbattery,
orbatteryinstallation,whichcancausedamage
totheelectricalsystemortothealternator.
ManyalternatorsusedinInternational
®
Trucksareofthe
self-energizingtype.Someenginesmayneedtoberevved
brieyafterstartingtoturnonthealternator.Thealternatorwill
thenchargeatidle.Ifthevehicleistobewarmeduppriorto
beginningoperation,theoperatorshouldobservethevoltmeter
forchargingindicationbeforeleavingthevehicle.
