ChargeAirCooler
Eachengineisequippedwithachargeaircoolingsystem.The
functionofthechargeaircooleristocoolthehotcompressedair
beforeitenterstheengine’sintakemanifold.Thissystemuses
ambientairasthecoolingmediumbyallowingtheintakeairto
passthroughanetworkofheatexchangingnsandtubesprior
toenteringthecombustionchamber.Theresultingcoolerintake
airisdenserthanuncooledairandwillallowadditionalfueltobe
injectedforgreaterpowerwhilehelpingtoreduceemissions.

theseenginecontrolsystems.
EngineBrake
WARNING
Topreventpersonalinjuryand/ordeath,or
damagetoproperty,donotusetheenginebrake
onslipperyroadsurfaces.Doingsomaycause
wheelslippageand/orlossofvehiclecontrol.
NOTE:Theenginebrakeshouldneverbeconsidereda
substituteforthevehicleservicebrakes.Theservice
brakesshouldalwaysbeviewedastheprimaryvehicle
brakingsystem.Theenginebrakecannotbringthevehicle
toacompletestop.Onlytheservicebrakescanbringthe
vehicletoacompletestop.
Alloftheoptionalbrakingfeaturesare
controlledbythedriver,usingtheENGINE
BRAKEON/OFFswitchonthesteering
wheelandtheENGINEBRAKE1/2/3power
levelselectorswitchlocatedinthecenter
controlswitchpanel.
