TrailerBrakeHandControl
WARNING
Topreventpersonalinjuryand/ordeath,or
damagetoproperty,thehandcontrolvalve
shouldneverbeusedtoapplythetrailerbrake
whenthetractorandtrailerareparked.Air
pressuremayleakfromthesystem,andthe
vehiclecouldrollaway.
Thetrailerbrakehandcontrolisusedtoapplythetrailerservice
brakes,independentlyofthetractorservicebrakes.Thetrailer
brakehandcontroloperatesavalvethatprovidesgradualcontrol
ofairpressureappliedtothetrailerservicebrakes.Thetrailer
servicebrakecanbefullyorpartiallyapplied,butwhenina
partialposition,canbeoverriddenbypressingfullyonthebrake
pedal.
Toapplythetrailerservicebrakesutilizingthehandcontrol,
movetheleverclockwise(down).Thefurtherthehandleis
movedclockwise,thegreatertheairpressureappliedtothe
trailerbrakes.Thetrailerhandbrakehandlewillremainin
placewiththedesiredbrakepressureapplieduntilthehandle
ismanuallymoved.Toreleasethetrailerbrake,movehandle
counterclockwise(up)untiltrailermovesfreely.

PARKINGBRAKE(YELLOWdiamondknob)
ThePARKINGBRAKEvalveknob(YELLOW)shouldbepushed
inrst,aftersufcientairpressureisbuiltup(applyfootbraketo
preventvehiclefromrolling).TheTRAILERAIRSUPPLYvalve
knobmaythenbepushedin.
