OperationandMaintenanceManualprovidedwiththe
vehicle.
Foreffectiveemissioncontrolandlowoperatingcost,itis
importantthatmaintenanceoperationsbeperformedatthe
speciedperiodsormileageintervalsindicatedintheEngine
OperationandMaintenanceManual.
Serviceintervalsarebasedonaverageoperatingconditions.In
certainenvironmentsandlocations,morefrequentservicingwill
berequired.
Therequiredmaintenanceoperationsmaybeperformedata
serviceestablishment.Anyreplacementpartsusedforrequired
maintenanceservicesorrepairsshouldbegenuineOEMservice
parts.Useofinferiorreplacementpartshindersoperationof
engineandemissioncontrolsandcanreduceenginelifeand
/orjeopardizethewarranty.
Receiptscoveringtheperformanceofregularmaintenance
shouldberetainedintheeventquestionsariseconcerning
maintenance.Thereceiptsshouldbetransferredtoeach
subsequentowneroftheengine(vehicle).
EngineFluidsandContaminatedMaterial
GOVERNMENTREGULATION:Engineuids
(oil,fuel,andcoolant)maybeahazardtohuman
healthandtheenvironment.Handlealluidsand
othercontaminatedmaterials(suchasltersor
rags)inaccordancewithapplicableregulations.
Recycleordisposeofengineuids,lters,and
othercontaminatedmaterialsaccordingtoapplicable
regulations.
ScheduledMaintenance
Forinformationregardingroutinescheduledmaintenancesuch
asreplacementofoil,lters,coolant,belts,belttensioners,and
inspectionandadjustmentofitemssuchasvalvelash,referto
theEngineOperationandMaintenanceManualsuppliedwiththe
vehicle.
