CAUTION

getextremelylowandtheengineveryhot,letthe
enginecoolforapproximately15minutesbefore
addingcoolant;then,withtheenginerunning,
addcoolantslowly.Addingcoldcoolanttoahot
enginemaycrackthecylinderheadorcrankcase.

Top-OffCoolantFillMethod
Thisisatraditionalgravity-ll-onlymethodthatinvolves
pouringorpumpingthecoolantintothedeaerationtankofthe
coolingsystemandusingacombinationofgravityandengine
operationtopurgethesystemofair.Thismethodincludes
thedisadvantageofarequirementtotemporarilydisconnect
theEGRwiringharnesstoprotecttheEGRfromheatdamage
priortobeingcompletelydeaerated(freedoftrappedair).This
processmaygenerateafaultcodethatmightrequirefurther
investigationbyanauthorizedInternationaldealer.
EnsurethatcoolantlevelismaintainedbetweentheCOLDMIN
andCOLDMAXlinesonthedeaerationtankwhenengineis
cold.
