Introduction
GeneralInformation
Thecontrols/featuresenablethedrivertomonitorandmanage
theoperationofthemajorityofthevehicle'sfunctions.This
sectiondescribesandidentiesvariouscomponentswithinthe
overheadconsole,electronicgaugecluster,centerdashpanel
/wingpanel,steeringcolumnandswitches,steeringwheel
controls,doorandwindowcontrols,collisionwarning/safety
systems,andelectronictouchscreen.
Electrical

Topreventpersonalinjuryand/ordeath,or
damagetoproperty,readandunderstandthe
appropriatemanualforthespecicequipment
inquestionbeforeoperating.Thisvehiclemay
beequippedfromthefactorywithelectrical
switchesintendedtooperateequipmentthatwas
installedbyaTruckEquipmentManufacturer
(TEM).Instructions,Cautions,andWarningsfor
thisadditionalequipmentwillNOTbefoundin
thismanual.
NOTE:Thisvehiclemaybeequippedwithelectronic,
application-specicoptionsnotdescribedinthisoperator
manual.Manyofthesefeaturesaresuppliedwithrocker
switchesthathavecustomlabelsapplied.Thepresenceof
theseoptionsasfactoryinstalledcanbeveriedfromthe
LineSetTicketincludedwiththevehicle.ATEM,however,
mayhaveinstalledsomeoftheseoptionsafterproduction.
Inthatcase,theywillnotappearontheLineSetTicket.
IfinstalledbyaTEM,youshouldreceiveanoperating
guideand/ortrainingforthespecicfunctionsprovided.
Familiarizeyourselfwithalloftheswitchesthatcontrol
chassis,engine,andbodyequipmentandseekadequate
trainingonthefunctionofallfeaturesbeforeoperatingthis
vehicle.
ElectricalSystem
Theelectricalsystemprovidesameanstodistributethe
electricalpowerandprovidethedriverwithcontrolsand
indicationsofvehicleperformance.Unlikepreviouselectrical
systems,thissystemusesmultiplexingforconnectingtomajor
functionalareasofthetruckwithmuchlesswiring.Thesystem
iscontrolledbythebodycontroller,whichprovidesinterfacesto
amajorityofvehicleswitchesandsensors.Thebodycontroller
alsocommunicateswiththestandardandoptionalsystem
controllersandmodulesinthevehicle.
