fromsunlight,inadry,wellventilatedarea.Ifindoor
storageisnotavailable,selectstoragelotstoeliminate
conditionsthatcausedeterioration.
•Parkawayfromtransformersand/orelectricalmotors,
becausewhentheprotectivewaxintirecompound
cracks,ozoneintheairattackstheexposedareas.
•Parkawayfromtrees,highweedsand/orgrassto
preventdamagefromtreeorweedsap,andtominimize
birdandinsectstains.
•Parkawayfromrailroadtracks,paintshops,smoky
industrialareas,andlocationsofpossibleroadsplash
contact.
•Ifavehicleisparkedonanincline,installwheelchocks.
DieselExhaustFluid(DEF)Storage
DEFhasalimitedshelflife,bothinthevehicle'sDEFtankand
instoragecontainers.
ThefollowingconditionsareidealformaintainingDEFquality
andshelflifeduringprolongedtransportationandstorage:
•Storagetemperaturebetween10°and90°F(-12°and
32°C)
•Storageinsealedcontainerstoavoidcontamination
•Avoidanceofdirectsunlight
Long-term,in-vehiclestorage(inexcessof6months)isnot
recommended.Iflongtermstorageisnecessary,periodic
testingoftheDEFisrecommendedtoensureproperDEF
concentration.
