groundbatteryterminalrst,thenthepositive
cable.Whenreconnectingthebatterycables,
connectthepositivecablesrst,andthen
reconnectthenegativecables.Failuretofollow
thiswarningmayresultinadirectbatteryshort,
whichisareorexplosionhazard.
CAUTION
Topreventdamagetoelectricalcomponents
duringelectricweldingoperations,followthese
cautions:Priortoelectricwelding,disconnect
anynegativeandpositivebatterycablesthat
connectthebatteriestothevehicle.Besure
thedetachedconnectorsarenottouching
thevehicle.Ifweldingclosetoanelectronic
component,temporarilyremovethatcomponent.
Attachtheweldergroundcableascloseas
possibletothepartbeingwelded.
Whenservicingyourvehicle,always:
1.TurnOFFtheignitionswitch,unlesstheprocedurecallsfor
arunningengine.
2.Settheparkingbrakeandinstallwheelchocks.
3.Usesupportstands,notajack,wheneveryoumustbeunder
araisedvehicle.
4.Donotsmoke.
5.Wearsafetyglassesforeyeprotection.
6.Operateengineonlyinawellventilatedarea.
7.Donotworkonbrakesorclutchunlessproperprecautions
aretakentoavoidinhalingfrictionmaterialdust.
