Programming Example: Working with an External Mixer
This example demonstrates how to work with an external mixer in a remote environ-
ment. It is performed in the Spectrum application in the default layout configuration.
Note that without a real input signal and connected mixer, this measurement will not
return useful results.
//--------------Preparing the instrument -----------
//Reset the instrument
*RST
//Activate the use of the connected external mixer.
SENS:MIX ON
//----------- Configuring basic mixer behavior -------------
//Set the LO level of the mixer's LO port to 15 dBm.
SENS:MIX:LOP 15dBm
//Set the bias current to -1 mA .
SENS:MIX:BIAS:LOW -1mA
//----------- Configuring the mixer and band settings -------------
//Use band "V" to full possible range extent for assigned harmonic (6).
SENS:MIX:HARM:BAND V
SENS:MIX:RFOV ON
//Query the possible range

//Use a 3-port mixer type
SENS:MIX:PORT 3
//Split the frequency range into two ranges;
//range 1 covers 47.48 GHz GHz to 80 GHz; harmonic 6, average conv. loss of 20 dB
