Displaying diagnostic events in the CPU
Use the diagnostics buffer to review the recent activity in the CPU. The diagnostics buffer is
accessible from "Online & Diagnostics" for an online CPU in the Project tree. It contains the
following entries:
● Diagnostic events
● Changes in the CPU operating mode (transitions to STOP or RUN mode)
The first entry contains the latest event.
Each entry
in the diagnostic buffer con-
tains the date and time the event was
logged, and a description.
The maximum number of entries is d
e-
pendent on the CPU. A maximum of 50
entries is supported.
Only the 10 most recent events in the
diagnostic buffer are stored pe
rmanent-
ly. Resetting the CPU to the factory se
t-
tings resets the diagnostic buffer by
deleting the entries.
You can also use the GET_DIAG instruction (Page 480) to collect the diagnostic information.
