USING A USB DEVICE
YoucanplugaUSBdeviceintoaUSBportontheLCManduseitforthe

BackinguporrestoringtheMLMandDLMdatabases
ImportingorexportingBlueScaleencryptionkeys
Gatheringlogfiles
UploadingBlueScalesoftwareupdatestothelibrary.
OneSpectraUSBdeviceisshippedwiththelibrary,butmosttypesofUSB
deviceswork.
Guidelines for Using a USB Device
WhenusingaUSBdevice,keepthefollowingguidelinesinmind:
After connecting a USB device, allow time for the device to mount before
continuing.
Do not leave a USB device plugged into the LCM indefinitely, unless specifically
directed to do so by Spectra Logic Technical Support.
The library only recognizes FAT-formatted, not NTFS-formatted, USB devices.
If you are unable to access a USB device from the library, remove it and use a
different one.
