Use the IBM Tape Diagnostic Tool (ITDT)

DownloadingandinstallingITDT(IBMTapeDiagnosticTool).
UsethefollowingstepstodownloadandinstallITDTonacomputerthatis
connectedtothesameFibreChannelarbitratedlooporfabricasthedrives
inthelibrary.
1. LogintoIBM’swebsite(http://www‐933.ibm.com/support/fixcentral/),
usingyourindividualIBMID.
2. Selectthefollowingoptions:
Product Group=SystemStorage
Select from System Storage =Tapesystems
Select from Tape Systems =Tapedriversandsoftware
Select from Tape drivers and software =IBMTapeDiagnosticTool
(ITDT)
Platform=Selectyouroperatingsystemfromthedrop‐downlist
andclickContinue.
3. Onthenextpage,selecttheversionofITDTthatyouwantto
download.Ifdesired,youcanselectmultipleversions.
Note: Ifyouareunsurewhichversiontoselect,clickShow Fix Detailstosee
additionalinformation.
4. ClickContinue.Ifyouarenotloggedintothewebsiteyet,youare
promptedtodosonow.
5. ChooseoneofthefollowingmethodstodownloadtheselectedITDT
installationfiles:
Download using your browser (HTTP)
Download using bulk FTP
Download using Download Director
6. DownloadandreadtheITDTdocumentationforassistanceinusing
andsettinguptheprogram.
7. RefertotheITDTdocumentationforinformationaboutusingITDTto

You must use ITDT version 9.0 or later to gather a drive trace from LTO-7 drives.
