Overview BlueScaleMediaLifecycleManagement(MLM)helpsyou
manageyourtapemedia(cartridges)bygivingyoutoolstoproactively
detectpotentialmediaerrorswellbeforetheyhappen.Whenusedin
combinationwithSpectraCertifiedMLM‐enabledmedia,MLMletsyou
manage,track,andreportallfacetsoftapeusagefromcreationto
retirement.WhenusedwithmediathatisnotMLM‐enabled,MLMtracks
andreportsthegeneralhealthofthemedia.
Spectra Certified MLM-Enabled Media
MediaLifecycleManagementstartswithpackaged,barcodelabeled,
SpectraCertifiedMLM‐enabledmedia(LTO‐3andlatergenerationdata
cartridgesandLTOcleaning cartridges).Beforeshipment,SpectraLogic
writesbaselinedatatotheMAM(MediumAuxiliaryMemory)embedded
ineachcartridge.Throughoutitslife,thecartridgeMAMcontinually
collectsdatato
