10. ClickSave.Thelibraryrequiresseveralminutestostorethe
configurationinformation,afterwhichthePartitionsscreenredisplays
withthepartitionyoujustcreatedaddedtothelistofpartitions.
Notes: Whenyousavethepartition,thelibraryautomatically
generatesaconfigurationbackupfileandsavesittothe
memorycardintheLCM.Thisbackupfilecontainsthe
libraryconfiguration,theMLMandDLMdatabases,andany
BlueScaleencryptionkeysthatarecurrentlystoredinthe
library.
Ifyouconfiguredtheemailoptionfortheautomatically
generatedbackupfile,thelibrarysendsanemailwiththe
backupfileattachedtothespecifiedrecipient(seeEmail
AutoConfigurationSaveonpage109).
CREATING A STORAGE PARTITION
ThefollowingsectionsdescribeusingtheBlueScalePartitionwizardto
createanewstoragepartition.
Prepare the Library
Beforeyoubegincreatingastoragepartition,makesurethatyoucomplete
thefollowing:
Installthedrivestobeassignedtothestoragepartition,includingany
drivethatyouplantouseasaGlobalSpare(seeInstallingtheTape
Drivesonpage52).
EntertheCoDactivationkeyforanyadditionalslotcapacityyouplan
touse(see
EnterActivationKeysonpage113).
Ifyouwanttoconfigurethepartitiontouseencryption,logintothe
encryptionfeature(seeLogIntotheEncryptionFeatureonpage284).

Components not configured in a partition may not display in the BlueScale
interface for a few minutes after library initialization.
