Configure PostScan Blackout Periods
Ifdesired,youcanconfigureblackoutperiodsduringwhichPostScan
processdoesnotoperate.Configuringblackoutperiodsensuresthat
duringtheblackoutperiod,allcartridgesinthepartitionareimmediately
availableandtheGlobalSparedriveisavailableifneeded.
1. AccesstheMLMSettingsscreen(seeEnableMLMandConfigure
Settingsonpage236).
2. InthePostScanBlackoutPeriodssection,usetheStartandStopdrop‐
downliststosetthestartandendtimesfortheblackoutperiodforeach
dayoftheweek.
Notes: Timesarebasedona24‐hourclock,where0ismidnight.
Todisabletheblackoutperiodforaspecificday,setboth
StartandStopto0.
Bydefault,theblackoutperiodsareallsetto0(disabled).The
PostScanprocessrunswhenevertherearetapesinthe
PostScanqueueandaGlobalSparedriveisavailable.
Configuringablackoutperiodtobeginat23hoursandend
at0isnotsupported.
When configuring blackout periods, keep the following information in mind:
The blackout periods you configure apply to all of the partitions in the library.
If PostScan is actively verifying a tape at the time the blackout period starts, it
completes the current scan. No additional tapes are scanned until the blackout
period expires.
