Enteringinformationonauserinterfacescreenrequiresusingoneofthe
followingmethods.
BlueScale Web Interface
TheBlueScalewebinterfaceletsyouuseyourcomputerkeyboardtoenter
informationintotheuserinterfaceandamousetonavigatethroughthe
userinterfacescreens(seeBlueScaleWebInterface onpage74).Usingthe
webinterfaceisthemostconvenientwaytoenterlargeamountsof
informationwhenyouareconfiguringthelibrary.
Note: Functionsthatrequirephysicalinteractionwiththelibrary(for
example,importingorexportingcartridges)arenotavailable
whenusingtheBlueScalewebinterface.
Soft Keyboard
Whenusingthetouchscreenontheoperator
panel,selectthekeyboardiconinthelowerright
cornerofanyscreentoactivatetheon‐screenkeyboard.Whenthe
keyboardisextended,aniconinthelowerrightcornerletsyouselect
betweenalphabeticornumericcharacters.Useastylusoryourfingerto
selectfieldsandenteralphanumericinformationusingthekeyboard.
Touchingthekeyboardiconagainclosesthesoftkeyboard.
Whenaccessingthelibraryremotelythroughawebbrowser,donotusethe
EnterkeyonyourkeyboardwhenmakingselectionsintheBlueScaleuser
interface.VariouswebbrowsershandletheEnterkeydifferently,causing
inconsistentbehaviorintheBlueScaleinterface.Alsodonotuseanyofthe
keyboardfunctionkeys.
Alwaysuseyourmousetomakeselectionsandclickthebuttonsin
BlueScalescreensinsteadofusingyourkeyboard.Onlyusethekeyboard
fortypinginformationintotextfields.
Donotusethebrowser’s“back”buttontoreturntoapreviouslyviewed
BlueScalescreen.AlwaysusetheBlueScaletoolbarandbuttonsonthe
screentonavigatetheBlueScalewebinterface.
Usingakeyboardcommand(forexample,F5)torefreshthebrowserwhen
connectedtotheBlueScalewebinterfacecausesunpredictableresults.
