Use the Drive Traces Button
DrivetracesforLTO‐5andlatergenerationdrivescanbegeneratedand
retrievedusingtheDriveTracesbuttonontheDrivesscreen.
Before You Begin
BeforeyoubegingeneratingadrivetraceusingtheDriveTracebutton,
makesureyoufulfillthefollowingprerequisites.
Emailing Results Ifyouplantoemailthedrivetracefiledirectlyfromthe
library,makesurethatyoupreviouslyconfiguredtheintendedemail
recipientasamailuser(seeConfigureMailUsersonpage104).
Saving Results to USB IfyouplantosavethedrivetracefiletoaUSB
device,youmustplugtheUSBdeviceintooneoftheUSBportsonthe
LCMandallowtimeforthedevicetomountbeforeyouclickDrive Traces
(seeUsingaUSBDeviceonpage147).
Note: IfaUSBdeviceisnotpluggedintotheLCM,theoptiontosave
thedrivetracefiletoaUSBdeviceisnotavailable.Youcan,
however,stillemailthetracefileordownloadthefile.
User Privilege Requirements Onlyauserwithsuperuseroradministrator
privilegescanusetheBlueScalesoftwaretoretrieveadrivetracefile.
Generate the Trace
1. Logintothelibraryasauserwithsuperuseroradministratorprivileges.
2. SelectMenu > Configuration > DLM(orDrives)todisplaytheDrives
screen.
