2-6 Phaser 6280 Color Laser Printer Service Manual
Theory of Operation
The negative charged Drum surface is scanned by the laser beams to form an
invisible electrostatic latent image on the drum surface. The process is
performed in parallel for Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black colors.
The area on the surface where the voltage potential drops due to exposure to
the laser beam becomes the electrostatic latent image.
