Theory of Operation
Main Drive
The Main Drive provides drive energy to the following components:
â–  Main Motor
The Main Motor provides drive energy for the Black Drum, Transfer Unit,
and Fuser.
â–  Sub Motor
The Sub Motor provides drive energy for the Black Developer, Cyan,
Magenta, and Yellow Drums.
â–  Exit Clutch
The Exit Clutch transmits drive energy from the Main Motor to the Exit
Roll in the Fuser. When Duplex mode is in use, the Exit Clutch stops. The
Exit Roll is driven by the Duplex Motor.
â–  PH Drive Assembly
The PH Drive Assembly provides drive energy for Tray 1 (MPT), Tray 2,
and Registration Assembly. The Tray 2 Motor is part of the PH Drive
Assembly.
