Track MIDI Perform Settings
The MPC Track View has been redesigned and you can now edit a MIDI track’s MIDI perform settings, making it
easier to control multiple tracks at the same time on the same controller.
To open the Track MIDI Perform Settings window:
1. Open Track View by pressing Menu, and then tapping Track View.
2. Tap the Filter button under Solo for the desired MIDI track.
3. In the window that appears, you can adjust the following settings:
• Note Range: This determines the Note Min and Note Max range that passes MIDI. Notes outside this
range will not be heard in the track. You can also adjust this directly from Track View by using the
Keyrange fields. Tap Learn and press the desired note for the Min and Max values.
• Velocity Range: This determines the Velocity Min and Velocity Max that passes MIDI. Velocities
outside this range will not be heard in the track.
• MIDI CC Filter: Check these boxes to allow the listed MIDI Control Change messages to pass through
the track. When unchecked, the MIDI CC message type will be ignored by the track. You can filter the
following MIDI CC messages:
CC1 Modulation
CC2 Breath
CC3 Undefined
CC4 Foot
CC5 Portamento
CC7 Volume
CC10 Pan
CC11 Expression
CC64 Sustain On/Off
CC65 Pmento (Portamento) On/Off
CC66 Sost (Sostenuto) On/Off
CC67 Soft Ped (Soft Pedal) On/Off
CC68 Legato Switch
CC128 Pitchbend
CC130 Program Change
CC129 Channel Pressure
CC131 Aftertouch
MIDI Control Mode Updates
MIDI Control Mode now has two additional toolbar items:
• Use the MIDI Output Port field to set where outgoing MIDI is sent without having to leave the MIDI Control
Mode page. This is the same setting as found in Preferences > MIDI/Sync > Output Ports > MIDI Control
Mode.
• Tap the I/O icon to open the MIDI Monitor, where you can view incoming and outgoing MIDI messages.
Workflow Improvements and Enhancements
The AIR DrumSynth-Multi plugin instrument effect now has assignable mute groups. The accompanying factory
presets have been updated to use them.
MPC now supports Ableton Link v3. Go to Preferences > MIDI / Sync > Sync Receive and enable the Ableton
Start/Stop Sync parameter to sync the MPC transport with other Ableton Link devices.
A new setting has been added to Preferences > Hardware > General to set the Shift + Q-Link button behavior to
either open the Q-Link Edit window or Cycle Backwards.
References to Master have been renamed Global or Main.
