7.2.2.1 Client Requesting an IP Address (Dynamically Allocated)
The DHCP relay agent functionality allows the router to forward the request to a DHCP server on behalf of a
DHCP client on the same subnet as the router interface. When the DHCP Relay Agent receives a DHCP
packet from a client (configured as a CUSTOMER interface), the following sequence occurs:
1. The packet is discarded for the following conditions; otherwise it is forwarded.
• Option 82 has already been added to the packet.
