5.6.18 Replacing Drive Pinions
If a drive pinion requires replacement, use the following procedure:
1) Follow above procedure for Removing the Cover.
2) Follow above procedure for Replacing Drive Motor.
3) Measure and record distance from end of Drive Pinion to face of motor housing, so new pinion
can be installed to same position on shaft.
4) Use a small gear puller to remove drive pinion from motor shaft, taking care not to pull against
motor housing.
5) Use a press to install new pinion onto motor shaft, taking care not to push against motor
housing.
