4.14 Functions Available While Running a Program
Only the following keys described below are enabled once a program is started running:
Key Function
【F↑】 Feed Rate Increase
Pressing 【F↑】on the panel will slowly increase the Feed Rate Override
Percentage, and the resulting Cutting Speed. The rate is increased more slowly
when the program is running, and more quickly when the program is paused. To
make large adjustments to the cut speed, the program should be paused and a new
feed rate entered.
【F↓】 Feed Rate Decrease
Pressing 【F↓】on the panel will slowly decrease the Feed Rate Override
Percentage, and the resulting Cutting Speed. The rate is decreased more slowly
when the program is running, and more quickly when the program is paused. To
make large adjustments to the cut speed, the program should be paused and a new
feed rate entered.
【S↑】 Torch Up
When Oxy-Fuel Cutting, pressing 【S↑】while the program is running will raise the
motorized torch lifter.
When Plasma cutting, press【S↑】during the first few seconds of the cut in order to
reduce the cutting height. The Arc Voltage Height Control will then take over and
maintain the new height for the remainder of that cut, and for subsequent cuts.
【S↓】 Torch Down
When Oxy-Fuel Cutting, pressing 【S↓】while the program is running will lower the
motorized torch lifter.
When Plasma cutting, press【S↓】during the first few seconds of the cut in order to
reduce the cutting height. The Arc Voltage Height Control will then take over and
maintain the new height for the remainder of that cut, and for subsequent cuts.
【G】 Override Preheat Timer
If oxy-fuel cutting, if this key is pressed while the preheat timer is running, it will end
the timer and turn on the cutting oxygen, allowing the process to proceed. The
preheat timer value is not affected.
【START】 Cancel & Record Preheat Timer
If oxy-fuel cutting, if this key is pressed while the preheat timer is running, it will end
the timer and turn on the cutting oxygen, allowing the process to proceed. It also
stores the elapsed time in the preheat timer, and the new value is used for
subsequent pierces.
【STOP】 Preheat Timer Extend
When oxy-fuel cutting, if this key is pressed while the preheat timer is running, it will
automatically extend the preheat indefinitely. Then, when ready to pierce, press the
【START】key to stop the timer and begin piercing.
【STOP】 Program Pause
If the machine is in motion, if this key is pressed, the machine will decelerate and
stop movement and shut off the cutting process (either shut off the Cutting Oxygen
or shut off the plasma arc). The Status display indicates PAUSE, and the Pause
Menu appears, as shown in the following section.
