ESAB Cutting Systems

The three options are explained below:
1) RETURN TO PATH
Return the cutting torch to the point where it left the programmed path at rapid positioning speed, and
then pause. This allows the operator to send the machine quickly back to the programmed path, and
then manually re-start the process before continuing on path. After manually starting the cutting
process, press the 【START】key to begin machine motion on the programmed path. If the
【PREHEAT】 key is used to start an automatic piercing cycle, then motion on path will start
automatically after the appropriate timers finish.
2) PIERCE & RETURN
This option will cause the torch to re-pierce at the current location, and then cut a straight line back to
the point where it left the programmed path, at cutting speed. Upon reaching that point, it will continue
cutting along the programmed path without stopping. The cutting process will start immediately upon
selecting this option.
Note: Be sure to have the plate sufficiently preheated (if flame cutting) before selecting this
option with either the
START
key or the
ENTER
key, because piercing will start
immediately once the operation is selected.
3) RELOCATE PATH
This option will erase the jog stroke and continue motion along the programmed path from the current
location. Press the 【START】 key or the 【ENTER】 to activate this option. The jog stroke will be
erased, but the control will wait until the 【START】 key is pressed again before motion begins on path.
If actually cutting, the cutting process must be manually re-started. However, this option is most often
used while doing a dry-run to check the location of the program on the plate.
