6. Operation of ELECYLINDER

[3] Positioning [Basic] (ST0, ST1, LS0, LS1)

Sample use
Control method
1) When Forward signal ST1 or Backward signal ST0 is turned ON, the actuator starts
acceleration based on the data in the specified position table for positioning to the target
position. Turning the ST1 or ST0 signal OFF on the way causes the actuator to be
decelerated and stopped. So, make the ST1 or ST0 signal remain ON until the actuator
reaches the target position.
2) Once the positioning is complete, the position detection output LS1 (when moved to
forward end) or LS0 (when moved to backward end) of the commanded position turns ON.
3) The position detection output LS* turns ON when the remaining movement amount gets in
the range of “Automatic Switch “LS” Signal Detection Range Adjustment”. It is ON when
the current position is in the detection range and is OFF when it is out of the range. (It
should be the same when the servo is OFF (by the stop switch on a teaching tool being
pressed).
4) Leave the ST* signal to be ON until the actuator is moved to another position and turn
OFF it at the next ST* signal. Turning it OFF with LS* Signal may not succeed to reach the
target position after the actuator starts to decelerate and stop after getting into the
detection range. In such a case as performing a continuous operation, set the detection
range to the necessary accuracy range or set a timer with the time till reaching the target
position after LS* Signal is detected, and turn ON the next ST* Signal.
