Usethefollowingstepstodetermineifthebarcodelabelsonyour

2. RuntheModify Barcode Reporting utility(seeChangeHowtheLibrary
ReportsBarcodesonpage126).
3. Makesurethattheoptionsfortheutilityaresetasfollows:

human‐readabletextoneach.
5. Importthecartridgesintothelibrary,thenviewthepartitioninventory,
eitherontheBlueScaleInventoryscreen(see

InventoryforaLocationonpage218)orthroughyourstorage
managementsoftware.
 Ifthereportedbarcodeexactlymatchesthehuman‐readabletext
yourecorded,thenthebarcodeincludesachecksumcharacter.
 Ifthereportedbarcodeismissingtheright‐mostcharacter,thenthe
barcodedoesnotincludeachecksumcharacter.

configurethebarcodereportingtomatchyourbarcodes.

Important: The T50e barcode reader supports a maximum of
15 human-readable characters plus a checksum character or a

Important: Never use cartridges that use a checksum in the
barcode and cartridges that do not use a checksum in the
barcode in the library.

After the utility completes, the LCM reboots. After the library completes its
initialization, it rescans the barcode labels of all media in the library. This rescan
takes approximately 18 seconds per cartridge.
