4. ClickOK.TheEncryptionConfigurationscreendisplayswitha
confirmationshowingthemonikerforthenewlycreatedencryption
keyandamessageremindingyoutocreateacopyofthekeyfor
safekeeping.
Ifthekeyisnotyetassignedtoapartition,Nonedisplaysinthe
Primary Key Forfield.
TheBlueScaleEncryptionStandardEditiononlysupportsusingone
encryptionkey.TheImport KeyandAdd Keybuttonsnolonger
displayafteryoucreateakey. Ifyoudeletetheexistingkey,they
displayagain.BlueScaleEncryptionProfessionalEditionisrequired
ifyouwanttostoremultipleencryptionkeysinthelibrary.
5. Exportthenewlycreatedencryptionkeyandsaveittoasecurelocation
(seeExportanEncryptionKeyonpage309).
6. IfyouhaveProfessionalEdition,repeatthestepsinthissectionto
createadditionalencryptionkeys,ifdesired.
7. Ifdesired,proceedtoAssigntheEncryptionKeytoaPartition.
If you create two monikers that are identical except for case, you may not be able to
retrieve your data after importing a key that was created using a different variation
of the moniker.

If you lose the encryption key, data encrypted using the key cannot be recovered.
For this reason, promptly copying the key and storing it safely (that is, away from
the data encrypted using the key) is extremely important to data decryption and
recovery. See
