Makesurethatyouhave:
AnactiveSLSkeytosupportmultiplepartitionsenteredintheOptionKeys

EnablingBlueScaleSoftwareSupport,Options,andUpgradeson
page110).
Unassigned,licensedslotsavailableforuseinthenewpartition.Ifnecessary,
modifyanexistingpartitiontomakeslotsavailable(see
Modifyingan
ExistingPartitiononpage186),orlicenseadditionalslotswithaCoD
capacitykey(seeCapacityOnDemand(CoD)onpage488).
NopartitionsalreadyconfiguredforStandardEntry/Exitmode.Youneedto
edittheexistingpartitiontochangetheEntry/Exitmodebeforeyoucan
createacleaningorstoragepartition.
Oneormoredrivesavailableforuseinthenewpartition.Ifnecessary,modify
anexistingpartitiontomakeoneormoredrivesavailableorinstall
additionaldrives.
Fewerthanfourstoragepartitionsconfigured.Thelibrarysupportsa
maximumoffourstoragepartitionswhenusinghalfheightdrivesortwo
partitionswhenusingfullheightdrives.
Makesurethatnobackgroundprocessesarerunning(forexample,Media
AutoDiscovery,PreScan,orPostScan).Ifabackgroundprocessisrunning,
thelibrarydisplaysamessageindicatingwhatitis.
IfthebackgroundprocessisMediaAutoDiscovery,PreScan,orPostScan
andyoucannotwaitfortheprocesstocomplete,youcanstoporpausethe
operation(

Forallotherbackgroundprocesses,waituntiltheprocessiscompletedand
thentrycreatingthepartitionagain.

password,openasupporttickettoSpectraLogicTechnicalSupport (see
