Makesurethatnobackgroundprocessesarerunning(forexample,Media
AutoDiscovery,PreScan,orPostScan).Ifabackgroundprocessisrunning,
thelibrarydisplaysamessageindicatingwhatitis.
IfthebackgroundprocessisMediaAutoDiscovery,PreScan,orPostScan
andyoucannotwaitfortheprocesstocomplete,youcanstoporpausethe
operation(see
StoptheDiscoveryProcessonpage245andPausethe
PostScanProcessonpage254).
Forallotherbackgroundprocesses,waituntiltheprocessiscompletedand
thentryusingtheGlobalSpareagain.

devices.TryusingadifferentUSBdevice.
Iftheproblempersists,resetthelibrarytomakesurethattheUSBportisnot
hung(see
